Yasuda-san is a genius at breaking pottery. When I find a rice bowl that I like, it is my basic rule to reserve more than one rice bowl.
However, when I work remotely and cook three meals a day, the rice bowls are broken one after another.
All the rice bowls I had in stock were gone. The last one I’m using now has a crack in it. It makes a strange sound when I knock on it. It is only a matter of time before it breaks.
So, I went shopping in the hot sun of midsummer to get new rice bowl.
Tokyo Design Studio
For a while now, I have been using a manufacturer called Tokyo Design Studio. The name sounds like a Japanese manufacturer, but it is actually a Dutch company.
It’s a combination of Dutch design and Japanese manufacture. The balance of these two concepts is very attractive to me.
Where’s the store?
Now, I search the store for the same bowl. It is more than one year ago that I purchased last time. In addition, because the store was like a temporary shop, I am anxious that there is no more, and I look for the store based on the memory.
However, I found it easily.
I wanted the same one I bought last time, but in a different colour. Well, the color isn’t too bad, I bought 4 of them in bulk. It’s going to be OK for a while now.
